Drama
The Heirs: Ep 5
Please remember that this is my thoughts and opinions. I am using this forum to get all my questions out into the public. So there WILL be ----Spoilers---- in the following review!!!
Ok So, We left Ep 4 with Kim Tan finding out that Eun-sang is living at his home in the maid quarters...
Ohhh his face when he realised hopelessness of their situation!
Nevertheless, their connection is irresistible. We see Kim Tan going after Eun-sang! *cue the cant-wipe-off-my-face-smile* Many funny and lovely Kim Tan & Eun-sang moments ensue. And Kim Tan ends up with Eun-sang's phone number. Yay!! they can Finalllyy contact each other!
Meanwhile, many other things happen with the secondary characters.
1. We are introduced to Kim Tan's Half brother, Won's (who we know as the cold-hearted president of the Empire Group) love interest.
2. Kim Tan's ex-best friend & Rachel's future step-brother, Young Do, meets Eun-sang again (He saw her first in Ep 4). And takes a liking for her....But how much of it is real and how much is just to irritate Kim Tan and Rachel??? We'll have to stay tuned!
3. We find out that Kim Tan's father has literally been stalking his kids!!! and find out about their potential love interest in the poor girls....*nail-biting* what will he do?? Is he a 'good' person that wants the best for his children and their happiness?? Or is he one of those rich dad's that think of their children as assets for business expansion?? WILL HE COME BETWEEN KIM TAN AND EUN-SANG??? I have Nooo idea!! A friend and I have been talking about it and we cannot decide exactly which way he will go...It is Frustrating! and just making us all wish that we have time machines!!!
4. In a twist----- It is the father that suggest and transfers Eun-sang, a poor girl, to one of his high schools ( Empire high School). This is the school that all the rich kids are attending and we're thinking a majority of the next drama is going to occur. Eun-sang will be one of the few poor students attending Empire High School.. What will happen? HOW will she be treated?? HOW will the other rich kids react to her attending their prestigious school?? WHO will protect her? Kim Tan?? Young Do??
*::..::*Thoughts*::..::*
I have to talk about the scene where Eun-sang finds out that Kim Tan is the second son of their employer! OH MY GOD!!! I was blinking back tears! It was soo good! the acting was Superb! I felt everything and it was just really Well Done!!!
Umm Shocker-----The Kiss!
I mean where in the hell did that come out of?? For a second there I couldn't believe my eyes!!!
Back-story: Rachel's mum (divorced) is currently engaged to Young Do's dad. This is why Rachel and Young Do will become step-siblings. But in Ep 4 we are shown that she has feeling for another. Yoon Jae-ho is the single father of Yoon Chan-young (who is Eun-sang's friend). Anyway Rachel's mum and Jae-ho have some sort of history that I have no doubt we will be enlightened of... and they had this REALLLY unexpected Kiss! WTH! It completely threw me! I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing.... yet!
SOOOOooooooo Much un-answered questions and with sooo much back story going on...I wish the writers ALLLL the best in tying everything together in 20 Eps. Coz they will need it!
**My Theories**
1. I think Kim Tan is attracted to Eun-sang of all people because prior to meeting her he was resigned and accepting of his fate. He did nothing to change it and just 'lazed around' all day. Eun-sang was fighting her situation. She has not yet accepted it or given into her poverty. It's that spark that I think attracts Kim Tan because it compels him to be more proactive. To stand up and fight for what he wants.
2. The Empire Group has a few high schools. So why would Kim Tan's father (let's call him Mr Kim) want Eun-sang to go to Empire High school of all places? I think he might be on their side. Might being the key word. Because in my experience watching K-dramas the parentals are usually the biggest obstacle. But I hope The Heirs will take a different approach in this as well and I hope to see a supporter in Mr Kim!
Kim Tan, Eun-sang .... Fighting!!!
I'll be posting my thoughts on Ep 6 tomorrow night.
*Anxious*
